Job summary

Aoka is seeking a certified Fire Inspector for a flexible, part-time as-needed role in the Hitchcock, TX area. You will inspect commercial, residential, and public facilities to ensure compliance with fire codes and safety standards, traveling to sites as needed.

Responsibilities include evaluating systems, identifying hazards, and preparing reports in line with NFPA standards. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Active ICC Fire Inspector Certification or TCFP Fire Inspector license is required.
• Willingness to travel to inspection sites within the service area.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Evaluate fire protection systems including alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers and means of egress.
• Identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
• Prepare inspection reports aligned with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Coordinate with owners, contractors and municipal officials to resolve violations.

Job Title: Fire Inspector (Part-Time / As-Needed)

Location: Hitchcock, Texas area

Pay: $40–$45 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement

About the Role

Aoka is looking for a certified Fire Inspector to help keep our communities safe. In this flexible, as-needed role, you'll inspect commercial, residential, and public facilities throughout the Hitchcock area, making sure buildings meet fire codes and safety regulations. What You'll Do

• Schedule and conduct on-site inspections of new construction, renovations, and existing buildings to verify compliance with local fire codes.
• Evaluate fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, extinguishers, and means of egress.
• Identify fire hazards and recommend clear, practical corrective actions.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports and documentation in line with NFPA standards, local codes, and company guidelines.
• Work with property owners, contractors, and municipal officials to resolve code violations.

What You'll Need

• An active ICC Fire Inspector Certification or TCFP Fire Inspector license.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to inspection sites throughout the service area.

Compensation and Benefits

• $40–$45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
• Mileage reimbursement for travel to and between inspection sites.
• Eligibility for Aoka's 401(k) plan with a 5% company match after 90 days of employment.
• A flexible, as-needed schedule.
