Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. seeks a Fire Project Manager to lead fire alarm, security, and communications installations from planning through closeout across commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military environments.

You will coordinate design, permitting, materials, labor, and field installation, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality while maintaining customer satisfaction and financial performance. This role requires PMP/NICET targets and local travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
• PMP certification within two years of employment.
• NICET Level II within one year of employment.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Project; ability to create macros.
• Availability for frequent local travel.
• Nice to Have Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security.
• Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects through all phases of execution.
• Establish local project offices and coordinate scope, risk, methodology, and resource planning.
• Manage schedules, costs, safety, quality, and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate work from design and permitting through material delivery, labor scheduling, and field installation.
• Facilitate Work in Progress meetings, status reviews, and issue resolution with internal teams and customers.
• Support change order processing and look for opportunities to improve project margin.
• Ensure projects are completed in alignment with company standards, customer requirements, published codes, standards, unique specifications, and AHJ requirements.

Role Overview

As a Fire Project Manager, you will lead fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects from planning through closeout. Improve every day by applying codes, standards, unique specifications, and AHJ requirements with candor and practical problem-solving. Win as one team by working across field, office, and customer partners to resolve issues, manage change orders, and deliver strong results. Follow departmental and SOX procedures and maintain accurate project documentation from start to finish.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification to be obtained within two years of employment.
• NICET Level II to be obtained within one year of employment.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Project. Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data across spreadsheets, and create macros.
• Availability for frequent local travel.
• Nice to Have Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security.
• Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
