Overview

UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable and hardworking Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician, or “Fire Extinguisher Safety Specialist,” to join our team. Responsibilities include inspecting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining portable fire extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting, training team members, providing technical support, and promoting fire safety products and services to grow our customer base.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, repair, and maintain fire extinguishers and emergency lighting.
  • Train team members on inspection and maintenance procedures.
  • Support inspections to ensure compliance with NFPA 10 standards.
  • Test emergency egress lighting and signs.
  • Conduct customer audits and provide quotes for fire services.
  • Demonstrate products and services to clients.
  • Service existing customer systems and support team coverage during absences.
  • Provide training on fire services inspection software.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • NPFA Extinguisher Certification/license.
  • Experience in inspecting portable fire extinguishers per NFPA 10.
  • State or local fire extinguisher certification as required.
  • Ability to work independently and travel within territory.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
