Koorsen Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician in Louisville, KY to inspect, service and sell fire safety equipment. The role requires attention to safety standards, strong customer communication, and the ability to work with on-site teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining extinguishers, hoses, and exit lights; ensuring customers understand products and systems; and upholding company policies while pursuing continual learning and career growth.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience with fire extinguishers.
• Pass drug and background screenings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• State licensing requirements and vendor certifications.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose, Emergency and Exit Lights, and Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems.
• Service any Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hoses, and Emergency and Exit Lights needing maintenance.
• Sell new Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hoses, Emergency and Exit Lights.
• Ensure customers understand the products and systems we maintain on their property.
• Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies.
• Be open to continual learning and growth.

Salary Up to $25/hour depending upon experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose, Emergency, Exit Lights, and Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems
• Service any Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hoses, and Emergency and Exit Lights that need maintenance
• Sell new Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hoses, Emergency and Exit Lights
• Ensure customers understand the products and systems we maintain on their property
• Interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers in a professional manner
• Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices
• Open‑minded willingness for continual learning
• Follow all Koorsen policies, procedures, and core values
• Any other duties deemed appropriate by management

Required

• 6 mo. of experience with fire extinguishers
• Pass drug and background screenings

Preferred

• 1-3 years of Fire Life Safety experience
• Route sales or sales experience
• Fire Extinguisher Vendor Certifications

Physical Demands

• Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools
• Must be able to use a cell phone and cell phone app effectively
• Lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Push and pull more significant than 75 lbs.
• Climb a ladder reaching a height of at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform service
• Exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature changes, and loud noise
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

HIRING PROCESS (in addition to an interview)

New hires must complete the I-9 Verification form within three days of hire. The U.S. Department of Justice and Immigration and Immigration and Naturalization Services require this form. It is used to verify your identity and right to work in the United States. In addition, we verify employment eligibility via E-Verify.
Background checks with criminal courts, state and county repositories of criminal records, and the Department of Motor Vehicles are required for all Positions.
