Job summary

Elite Fire Services seeks a reliable Fire Extinguisher & Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to join our Columbus, OH team. You will inspect, service, install, and maintain commercial kitchen suppression systems and portable extinguishers in compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate has experience in fire protection or technical trades, is comfortable in commercial kitchens, and can communicate clearly with customers. Competitive pay, training, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with kitchen fire suppression systems and extinguishers.
• Knowledge of NFPA 10 and NFPA 17A is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and maintain commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
• Inspect, test, service, maintain, and recharge portable fire extinguishers.
• Install new fire suppression systems and extinguishers as needed.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations.
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
• Diagnose and repair system deficiencies.
• Communicate with customers about system condition and needs.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

About the Opportunity

Elite Fire Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fire Extinguisher & Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to join our growing team out of our office location in Columbus, OH. This role is responsible for inspecting, servicing, installing, and maintaining commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fire protection services or a mechanical/technical background and be comfortable working in commercial kitchens, restaurants, and other business environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and maintain commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and recharging of portable fire extinguishers.
• Install new fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers when required.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local fire regulations.
• Maintain accurate service reports and inspection documentation.
• Diagnose and repair system deficiencies.
• Communicate with customers regarding system condition, repairs, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers preferred (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, etc.).
• Knowledge of NFPA 10 and NFPA 17A standards is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Certifications

• Ohio State Kitchen Suppression System and Extinguisher Certifications (preferred but not required)
• OSHA safety training (preferred but not required)

Compensation
