Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Portables Support Technician to assist in inspection, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire protection equipment. This role provides hands-on training under direct supervision and supports experienced team members while learning applicable codes, standards, and safe work practices in fire and life safety systems.

• Must follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license if driving role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment under direct supervision.
• Support senior technicians with service tasks including tagging, documentation, and basic compliance checks.
• Learn and follow NFPA standards, company procedures, and safety protocols.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed as directed.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in the field.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and needs.

The Portables Support Technician is a responsible for assisting in the inspection, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire protection equipment. Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders.

• Ability to work in various environments including commercial, industrial, and construction settings.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
