Qualifications

Location: Home Based with National Travel
Salary: £48,000 per annum
Working hours: 8-5 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee day to day fire safety activities across the BBC account through the Fire Compliance dashboard.
  • Provide fire safety training for Fire Wardens, employees and subcontractors, ensuring knowledge and compliance with regulations.
  • Track and evaluate employee and subcontractor (SCP) performance related to fire safety equipment maintenance, through implementation of a Level 1 and 2 audit programme.
  • Ensure that operational, project or event activities do not compromise fire safety standards.
  • Offer ad hoc subject matter expertise on fire safety issues as needed.
  • Support the Fire Safety Manager in developing and implementing fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support the execution of fire evacuation drills and emergency response exercises.
  • Maintain accurate records of fire safety training, performance tracking, and compliance audits.
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest updates to fire safety protocols.
Person Specification
  • Strong knowledge of UK fire safety laws and regulations.
  • Fire Safety Certification (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety, CFPA Europe Diploma, Fire Risk Assessment Qualification).
  • Experience in fire risk assessment and fire safety management.
  • Membership of a fire safety professional body (e.g. IFSM, IFE).
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
