Job summary

The City of Santee is seeking a Fire Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Intern to respond to 9-1-1 medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, rescues, and fire incidents under the direction of a Paramedic Mentor or Fire Captain.

The position is part-time temporary, limited to 528 hours per calendar year, and requires an EMT license with San Diego County accreditation, CPR certification, a high school diploma, and being at least 18 years old. The minimum wage for this role is $16.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a current CPR card and maintain it for the duration of assignment.
• Must possess a California EMT license with accreditation in San Diego County at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 9-1-1 medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, rescues, and fire incidents as an EMS Intern.
• Work under supervision of a Paramedic Mentor and/or Fire Captain.
• This is a part-time temporary role with a limit of 528 hours per calendar year.
