Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Monessen is seeking Fire Dispatchers to coordinate responses to fires, rescues, and hazardous conditions. You will receive incident information, alert resources, and maintain contact with responding crews to ensure accurate, timely operations.

Applicants should be able to handle computer systems, maps, and radio communication under pressure. Training and certification may be required for specialized assignments and shift coverage across all hours.

Qualifications

• Comfort with computer systems, maps, and radio communication is expected.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document reports of fires, rescues, alarms, and hazardous conditions.
• Verify incident locations and reported risks; ensure accuracy of data.
• Alert stations and dispatch apparatus using approved response assignments.
• Monitor radio channels, unit availability, and incident status.
• Relay information about occupants and changing conditions during incidents.
• Process requests for additional resources through established procedures.
• Coordinate mutual-aid communications when assigned.
• Record dispatch times and unit movements.
