Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Evanston, WY seeks Fire Dispatchers to coordinate responses to fires, rescues, hazardous conditions, and other emergencies. You will receive incident information, alert resources, and maintain communication with responding crews, while following established response plans and directions from authorized personnel.

This role may require night, weekend, and holiday shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is commonly required.
• Fire dispatch training or emergency communications experience may be required for certain assignments.
• Comfort with computer systems, maps and radio communication.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document reports of fires, rescues, alarms and hazards.
• Verify incident locations and access information.
• Alert stations and dispatch apparatus using approved response assignments.
• Monitor radio channels, unit availability and incident status.
• Relay information about occupants, hazards and changing conditions.
• Process requests for additional resources through established procedures.
• Coordinate mutual-aid communications when assigned.
• Record dispatch times, unit movements and significant incident updates.
