Job summary

The City of Aurora seeks a Data Analyst – Fire to acquire, manage, integrate, analyze, and report Aurora Fire Rescue data to support operations, performance measurement, regulatory reporting, and informed decision-making.

The role involves data ingestion, validation, QA, transformation, and development of recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analyses, with a focus on improving operational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Public Administration with analytics emphasis.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, data management, BI, or related field, with large datasets.
• Experience with public safety data systems and GIS is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AFR data and reporting within CAD, RMS, NERIS and related databases.
• Develop data integrations between CAD, RMS, and NERIS to ensure data quality.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for operational needs.
• Perform statistical and trend analyses to identify operational patterns and risks.
• Support GIS data updates and evaluate new data technologies.
