Job summary

North County Fire Protection District is seeking a Fire Chief/CEO to plan, organize and direct the district's overall operations. The role requires leading executive-level leadership and coordinating with the Board and community partners while ensuring readiness for major incidents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public administration, budget development, policy leadership, and compliance with state training requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• California Driver’s License or eligibility required.
• CPR/AED certification (BLS) required.
• OSFM Chief Officer certification required (Fire Chief certification preferred).
• Residency within reasonable response distance to District required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and directs the overall operation of the Department.
• Directs budgeting, project management and policy development.
• Interacts with the Board of Directors and participates in community panels and outreach.
• Responds to major incidents and calls as needed.
