Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with strong chemistry component and 5+ years in a chemistry lab, or 15 years in a lab with 5 years in chemistry.
• Proficiency with basic laboratory equipment and SOPs is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop experiments evaluating wildland fire chemicals.
• Develop, validate, and document QA and testing protocols.
• Research and recommend new testing procedures and instrumentation.
• Provide SME input on project planning and deliverables.
• Oversee and conduct complex scientific experiments.
• Analyze data to identify acceptable thresholds and troubleshoot results.
• Draft comprehensive scientific reports and data summaries.
• Perform laboratory technician duties including sample prep, calibration, and data collection.
