Fire Brigade Firefighter

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Fire Brigade Supervisor, trains for and participates in emergency responses to various fire, smoke, and environmental hazard alarms.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to alarms and participates in control and mitigation efforts
• Performs routine patrols
• Remains skilled in modern fire suppression tactics
• Participates in ongoing, collaborative training and drills
• Works effectively following policies and procedures

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Hazmat-Awareness (Technician preferred) certification through MI Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM)
• Firefighter certification through MI Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or rule infractions
• Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Report any facility issues
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Familiarity with security equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
