A leading company in the Fire and Rescue sector is seeking a supervisor to oversee maintenance operations of specialized equipment. Under general supervision, this position supervises a team on an assigned shift that are responsible for maintaining and repairing specialized Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) equipment and apparatus. Assists in planning and organizing maintenance and repair operations, diagnosing issues, and performing specialized repairs. Oversees inventory management and ensure functionality of all equipment. Leads and instructs a team of skilled apparatus mechanics in the repair, maintenance, and testing of fire pumps, hydraulic systems, and generators. Supervises design, construction, and fabrication of specialized FRD equipment. Detect, diagnose, and repair complex electrical problems in multi-plex and non-multi-plex vehicles. Responds to major emergency incidents for prolonged operation of fire and rescue vehicles. Schedules and facilitates certification testing of specialized fire apparatus. Ensures compliance with facility safety guidelines and equipment maintenance requirements. Manages accountability, record keeping, maintenance, inspections, and certification for all shop equipment. Identify, schedule, and approves overtime for assigned personnel to meet mission support needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to:
High school graduation or a GED issued by a state department of education;
Plus, five years of experience in vehicle maintenance;
Related automotive technical education or trade training above the high school level may be substituted for experience on an hour for hour basis;
Possession of a set of personal hand tools commonly used in the automotive section to which assigned is required upon appointment.
