Fire and Life Safety Inspector - Convergentz

Join Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group, as a Fire Life and Safety Inspector. In this role, you will conduct inspections on fire protection systems such as Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Fire Pumps, Backflows, Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems, and Total Flood Fire Suppression Systems. You will also provide mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual, quarterly, and 5-year inspections and testing of fire protection systems.
• Install and service fire and life safety equipment, including new installations, retrofits, and tenant improvements.
• Support and guide other technicians in the field.
• Communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding system deficiencies.
• Complete detailed inspection reports with supporting photographs.
• Manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in fire system inspection and installation.
• Proficient in wet, dry, and pre-action fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of antifreeze systems, backflow prevention, and fire pump systems is a plus.
• Experience with underground piping installation is advantageous.
• Understanding of NFPA 13 and 20 codes.
• Ability to read and interpret fire system design drawings.
• Strong knowledge of the fire protection industry standards.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
