Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced fire alarm inspector to join our field operations. You will independently perform inspections, tests, and verifications to NFPA standards and local codes across commercial environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years fire alarm inspection/testing experience per NFPA and local codes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; knowledge of NFPA 72 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately document inspection and testing results.
• Identify deficiencies and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Communicate findings with customers and internal teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Independently perform fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA standards and local codes.
• Conduct device activation, system functionality checks, and alarm verification.
• Accurately document inspection and testing results.
• Identify deficiencies and perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Communicate findings with customers and internal teams.
• Interpret system drawings, layouts, and technical documents.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience independently performing fire alarm inspections and testing per NFPA standards and local codes.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform inspections and testing.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Independently capable in core technical functions.
• Able to complete standard jobs without direct supervision.

Other Duties

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing ladders.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Use of hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds

Pay Range

$26-$32 doe and negotiable based on industry experience. Pay is every Friday. Company Vehicle will be provided.
