Job summary

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to support the NASA Goddard program in Greenbelt, MD. The role maintains fire protection systems and ensures compliance with NFPA standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years’ experience with fire alarm systems, Siemens XLS/MXL expertise, and U.S. Citizenship. NICET certification is preferred; background and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining Siemens XLS and MXL systems.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Mature judgment; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Tests, maintains and/or repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems on site.
• Visually inspects fire alarm equipment for defective components and replaces as needed.
• Tests initiating devices, signal circuits, detectors and system transmitters.
• Ability to operate Government or company owned vehicles.
• Supports other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed or directed.
• Adheres to established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related work as required.

Summary/General Description of Job:

Maintains fire protection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacture’s specifications and the National Fire Protection Association standards.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Tests, maintains and/or repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems on site
• Visually Inspects fire alarm equipment for defective components and replaces defective components as needed.
• Tests initiating devices, signal circuits, detector and system transmitters making repairs as needed.
• Ability to operate Government or company owned vehicles.
• Assists and supports other departments, staff and /or trade groups as needed or directed.
• Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related work as required or assigned.
