Commercial Fire Alarm Technician for Service and Installs

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Installs, tests, and repair fire alarm systems.
  2. Uses blueprints or building plans to determine proper systems to install based on building layout and setting.
  3. Runs wiring and circuits, installs hardware, and attaches electrical wires.
  4. Inspects and tests systems, batteries, and electrical wiring; makes adjustments and repairs as required.
  5. Replaces malfunctioning hardware when necessary.
  6. Ensures systems comply with electrical and fire codes.
  7. Explains and demonstrates system function and operation to end users.
  8. Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of security and fire alarm systems and installation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read installation and system manuals.
  • Ability to read blueprints and building plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and fire codes.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to install hardware.
  • NICET II a Plus.
