Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fire Alarm Technician to support the Stanford Health Care Facilities team in Redwood City, CA. This role entails installation, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of fire/life safety systems in accordance with standards.

The technician will work with various fire alarm manufacturers, maintain suppression systems, and train staff on system operations. The position offers competitive compensation and extensive employee benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the installation and testing of low voltage systems.
• Preferred simple product knowledge and training with Windows based programs.
• NICET I Certification preferred.
• Fundamental knowledge of electricity (Ohm’s law, resistance and AC/DC circuits).
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, both conventional and addressable.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and battery analyzer.
• Knowledge of NFPA Standards and Codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation service repairs and testing on electronic fire alarm systems.
• Service, troubleshoot and install Fire/Life Safety Systems.
• Provide accurate NFPA test reports and maintain alarm equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational product manuals.
• Train Maintenance & Operations staff on fire alarm systems.
• Assist customers with questions and concerns.
