Job summary

Thompson Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, test, inspect, service and repair fire alarm systems at customer sites. You will respond to emergencies, troubleshoot faults, and complete inspection and service reports while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires reading electrical schematics and familiarity with NFPA 72, NEC, and local codes. This on-site position emphasizes safety, reliability, and clear communication with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; technical certifications in fire alarm systems are preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for customer interactions.
• Solid understanding of fire alarm systems including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to install, service, and upgrade fire alarm systems.
• Respond to emergencies during or after hours to resolve safety concerns.
• Perform annual and semi-annual inspections of life-safety systems.
