Job summary

First Call Security Innovations LLC is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our Houston-based team. You will install, program, test, and commission fire alarm systems in commercial and residential settings to protect lives and property.

You will read blueprints, perform inspections, and coordinate with AHJs while ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and local codes. A Texas FAL license or ability to obtain one is required along with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Texas State Fire Alarm License (FAL) or ability to obtain one.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes.
• Experience with major fire alarm brands (Notifier, Simplex, Honeywell, or similar).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and a customer-first attitude.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, and commission fire alarm systems in commercial and residential settings.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system testing in compliance with NFPA 72 standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fire alarm system malfunctions and perform timely repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Complete accurate service reports, inspection documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
• Ensure all work meets local, state, and national fire and life safety codes.
