Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician II to install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial environments. You’ll work independently or with a team, leveraging 3–5 years of experience and NICET Level I certification.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, testing devices, coordinating with monitoring firms, and documenting work. Travel within NC may be required; after-hours calls possible.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of fire alarm installation and service experience.
• NICET Level I certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency with Bosch, Fire-Lite, Notifier, EST, Siemens, and Silent Knight systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 codes and local standards.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel within the state.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and test fire alarm systems and components.
• Perform NFPA 72 inspections and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair alarms and device issues.
• Read blueprints and riser diagrams; interpret specs.
• Coordinate with monitoring firms and notify occupants during tests.
• Maintain documentation of inspections and installations.
• Ensure safety and company policy compliance.
• Provide training to junior technicians when needed.
• May require after-hours or on-call emergency service.
