Fire Alarm Technician

Responsibilities:

The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm and low-voltage systems. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to service calls for troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment.
  • Programming and testing various low-voltage systems.
  • Participating in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours service when assigned.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and operational/product manuals.
  • Carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Working in unusual and difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, lifts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and their staff.
  • Working flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements. Overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience installing and servicing voice and data, security, fire alarm, and CCTV equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or higher preferred (not required).
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug test.
  • Ability to pass a security background check to obtain an alarm license.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and be on call to respond to emergency situations.
