Job summary

Eagle Fire Inc. in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician III to install, test, repair and inspect fire detection systems. You will provide exceptional service to internal and external customers, schedule inspections, and maintain documentation for compliance and records.

The role requires EST 3 or 4 certification, NICET 2 or 3 preferred, and a valid driver’s license. OC/EO- compliant teams, overtime may be required, and ongoing training is supported.

Qualifications

• EST 3 OR 4 certified is required.
• NICET level 2 or 3 is preferred.
• Education, experience, and certification as specified in the job description (or equivalent).
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, repair, test and inspect fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis.
• Follow manufacturer instructions, codes/standards, and company policies.
• Schedule inspections with customers as required.
• Document inspections for company, customer, authorities and other entities.
• Communicate discrepancies and needed repairs to company and customer.
• Follow up to ensure repairs are performed.
• Market EFI services to existing and potential customers.
• Train Technician Trainees as assigned.
• Commit to overtime as needed and maintain commitments.
• Complete continuing education to retain certifications/licenses.
• Adhere to company standards and procedures, including Substance and Alcohol policies.

Job Description

The Fire Alarm Technician III tests, repairs, and inspects fire detection systems. He or she must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis
• Completes all services following manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures
• Schedules inspections with customers as required
• Provides documentation of inspections for Company records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required
• Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to the Company and the customer
• Follows up to ensure that suggested repairs to systems are performed
• Markets EFI services to existing and potential customers
• Trains Technician Trainees as assigned
• Commits to work until obligations are met, which may result in overtime
• Completes continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for position
• Adheres to ALL Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard

• Education, experience, and certification as specified in the job description (or equivalent combination)
• Has practical knowledge of fire protection codes and standards
• Excellent customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to handle change, resolve conflict, and solve problems as they arise with minimal direction
• Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas
• Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull
