Job summary

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician Trainee. The role focuses on gaining knowledge and experience in training with Alarm Technicians, with the goal of eventually earning an Ohio Fire Alarm license and NICET I certification.

This is a three-year training program position that requires travel and hands-on exposure to fire alarm systems and related security technologies across our service areas.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electronics or similar experience.
• Significant proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Train with Alarm Technicians on all basic installations.
• Develop understanding of how each device works and proper installation.
• Attend basic and advanced fire alarm classes through Nafed or AFAA.
• Complete training modules in a professional and timely manner.
• Learn to install, troubleshoot, and program conventional and addressable fire alarms.
• Eventually install/service fire alarms with minimal supervision.
• Attend NFPA 72 Basics class.
• Gain advanced knowledge with conventional fire alarm systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and program Fire Alarm, Access Control, Nurse Call, Intrusion, Sound, CCTV, and IP Video systems.
• Complete paperwork for service calls and inspections, such as Work Tickets and Deficiency Reports.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Provide detailed oral and written feedback to management about customer issues.
• Coordinate and communicate with team members and customers.
• Participate in on-call rotation and work flexible hours.
• Work on low voltage systems.
• Willing and able to obtain Ohio Fire Alarm license.
• During year three, complete NICET level 1 certification.
