Overview

In the role of Fire Alarm Service Technician 3, you will demonstrate a high level of expertise in servicing fire alarm systems. This position involves leading complex service projects, advanced fire alarm system programming, mentoring junior technicians, and working more autonomously in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Lead inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems to ensure performance.
  2. Diagnose and resolve complex issues in fire alarm systems, including networked systems.
  3. Maintain detailed records of service activities, system analyses, and recommendations.
  4. Mentor and supervise junior technicians, providing guidance and training.
  5. Participate in system design, project planning, and implementation to improve system functionality and compliance with NFPA 72 and other codes.
  6. Conduct site surveys, develop bills of materials, and perform testing with Fire Marshal.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues, building owners, and managers to optimize system performance.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, technology, and regulations.
  9. Perform programming and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.
  10. Commit to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 7 years related experience or a 2-year technology degree with 5 years related experience.
  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to obtain US clearance.
  • Attention to detail and professional work ethic.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to work under stress and work on projects anywhere as assigned.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift at least 100 pounds, work at heights up to 60 feet, and perform physical activities routinely.
  • Good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
  • Work overtime as needed, pass background and drug screening, and have a valid driver’s license.
