Job summary

Advanced Integrated Services (AIS) is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician in Louisiana to install, test, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fire alarm and life-safety systems across the region.

The role focuses on installing panels, detectors, and devices, performing inspections per NFPA standards, and ensuring proper operation through commissioning and documentation. Strong customer service and reading schematics are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and relevant fire alarm experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and local fire codes is preferred.
• Reading schematics and troubleshooting electrical/low-voltage circuits is required.

Responsibilities

• Install and program fire alarm control panels, detectors, pull stations and devices.
• Perform inspections, testing and preventive maintenance per codes and manufacturer specs.
• Troubleshoot faults and replace defective components.
• Read blueprints and system drawings; document service activities.
• Communicate with customers and inspectors; ensure NFPA compliance.

Advanced Integrated Services (AIS), a Crete United Company provides Electrical, Controls Automation, Instrumentation, Fire & Safety services and has year-round, steady work throughout Louisiana, Texas and the southeast. AIS is experiencing significant growth, and we are looking for a Fire Services Technician to join our team and provide expert-level installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of fire protection systems.

A Fire Alarm Technician installs, tests, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains fire alarm and life-safety systems. Typical responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and program fire alarm control panels, detectors, pull stations, notification devices, modules, and related equipment.
• Perform inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance according to applicable codes and manufacturer requirements.
• Troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, communication problems, and device failures.
• Repair or replace defective components.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system drawings.
• Perform system commissioning and verify proper operation.
• Document service calls, inspections, repairs, and test results.
• Communicate with customers, building managers, contractors, and inspectors.
• Maintain compliance with applicable NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain accurate service records.

Typical qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with fire alarm systems, electrical systems, or low-voltage systems preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local fire codes.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical/low-voltage circuits.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Relevant state/local licensing or NICET certification may be required or preferred.
