Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a Fire Alarm Service Technician in Marlboro Township, NJ. The role performs maintenance and service on fire alarm systems with minimal supervision, applying troubleshooting skills and industry best practices to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, interpreting drawings, using hand tools and testing equipment, and completing accurate reports.

Qualifications

• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting.

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Education/Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Other Duties

• Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

Pay Rate

$25 to $35 based on expereince.
