Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Technician to independently perform inspections, testing, and basic troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. The role travels to job sites and ensures compliance with NFPA 72 and local codes, with a focus on accurate documentation and customer communication.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and strong troubleshooting skills; NICET Level I or higher is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform inspections and testing.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable codes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Independently capable in core technical functions.
• Able to complete standard jobs without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

The Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and basic troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. This position can complete standard jobs without direct supervision and ensures compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing ladders.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Use of hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
