Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core maintenance and service on fire alarm systems across diverse environments. You will diagnose issues, interpret drawings, complete service reports, and ensure compliance with codes and company policies.

Travel to sites, mentor junior technicians, and uphold safety standards throughout engagements. The role demands a high school diploma, 3+ years in the field, and a strong grasp of fire alarm

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.

• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
