ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island.
It’s a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on the island and 1 month off, unpaid. Wake Island is 2,100 miles away from HNL. While working on-site, housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. You are responsible for the flight from your home base to HNL. Transportation to Wake Island is provided by government-sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position.
Installs, inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs intrusion detection and fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards.
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear to understand instructions, provide information and respond to safety warnings. Work conditions require the employee to stand; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; taste or smell; and work on scaffolding and ladders, as well as elevated platform and confined spaces when required to access systems. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance and lift and/or move heavier objects with assistance
