Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician to program, commission, and troubleshoot complex fire alarm systems. You will collaborate with sales, project teams, and clients to ensure sound design, installation, and commissioning, delivering projects on time and within budget.

The role requires 2–5 years in fire-life safety, the ability to program mid-range systems independently, and strong communication with onsite contractors.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years experience in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Intermediate understanding of NFPA 72 code requirements for the installation of a fire alarm system.
• Intermediate knowledge of Section 907 of the International Fire Code or state-adopted fire code.

Responsibilities

• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems leading to final acceptance by customers and AHJs.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELLSciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations.
