As a Permanent Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of various establishments by maintaining and servicing fire alarm systems. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills, knowledge, and expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment. Your role will be crucial in preventing fire-related incidents and ensuring the smooth operation of fire alarm systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of systems and to continually learn and grow within the Engineering industry.
- Carry out regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure they are in perfect working condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire alarm systems promptly and efficiently.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide technical support to clients as needed.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed service reports.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest fire safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and other staff members.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve fire alarm system designs and processes.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal safety regulations.
- 1+ years of experience in the fire installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
- Must be able and willing to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 12 months
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
- Ability to read/understand design and construction documents
- NICET certified
