Job summary

Metro Fire + Security is seeking a Fire Alarm & Fire Sprinkler Inspector to service, inspect, and test sprinkler and fire alarm systems to prescribed standards. The role requires identifying code issues, conducting pre-inspections, and communicating inspection scope, duration, and quotes to customers.

The ideal candidate is reliable, thorough, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs,

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Authorized to work in the USA.
  • NICET II Fire Sprinkler Inspector or NM Licensed Inspector.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of prior work experience.
  • Ability to travel to multiple job sites daily.
  • Ability to carry and move tools up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call, nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of fire systems and tools.
  • Organized and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact and ensure customers receive quality customer service.
  • Conduct fire inspections for existing structures, renovations, and new construction.
  • Ensure customers are serviced to the highest level of satisfaction.
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire/life safety product lines.
  • Perform troubleshooting, service, and minor repairs as necessary.
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and make repair recommendations.
  • Review inspection reports with customers and explain results.
  • Complete reports that are legible, accurate, and detailed.
  • Invoice paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Lead Inspection Technician to schedule work.
  • Stay current with code requirements and industry changes.
  • Attend required safety training.
  • Update Building Reports for inventory purposes while working.
  • Keep tools and equipment operational and stocked.
  • Work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.

The Fire Alarm & Fire Sprinkler Inspector will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, and testing sprinkler and fire alarm systems to the prescribed standards, identifying code and non-compliance issues to the proposed scope of work and provide quality inspections. The Inspector is also responsible for conducting pre-inspection interviews and providing information surrounding what the inspection will consist of, the duration of the inspection, how billing and repair quotes will take place, and answering any questions accordingly. Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary point of contact and ensure customers receive quality customer service
  • Conduct fire inspections for existing structures, renovations, and new construction
  • Ensure customers are serviced to the highest level of satisfaction through quality service and that the customers’ expectations are satisfied before leaving job site
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire/ life safety product lines to the applicable standards
  • Perform troubleshooting, service, and minor repairs as necessary
  • Identify code and other non-conformance issues and make recommendations on repairs or preventive maintenance
  • Review inspection report with customer and provide a detailed explanation of inspection results
  • Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed
  • Invoice paperwork in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Lead Inspection Technician to ensure the customer receives the scheduled work promised
  • Stay current with code requirements and industry changes
  • Attend and complete all required safety training
  • Update and complete Building Reports, for inventory purposes, while performing work
  • Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.
  • Ensure proper stock of parts and equipment on company-issued vehicle
  • Able to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer needs
  • Maintain and outfit company provided service vehicle to effectively complete assign tasks (i.e. - Clean and Maintenance Solo Equipment, Battery Testers, Batteries, Basic Parts Supply for Minor Repairs and Minimum Level of Truck Stock/Tools)
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions - climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Perform additional duties as required

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions - climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
