Job summary

COSCO Fire Protection in Henderson, NV is seeking a CAD Designer to join our fire protection design team. You will create fire alarm and special hazard system drawings, prepare submittal packages, and maintain drawing files using AutoCAD and related tools.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CAD or equivalent, NFPA knowledge, ability to read architectural and electrical layouts, and strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CAD or equivalent
• Formal CAD/AutoCAD training or experience
• Basic understanding of fire alarm electronics, codes and practices
• Proficient with MS Office & AutoCAD 2004+
• Able to read architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of NFPA codes & standards
• Strong ability to follow supervisor directions
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver's license; fire certifications a plus; NICET a plus

Responsibilities

• Attend project turnover meetings with design supervisor, sales and field superintendent
• Create fire alarm and special hazard system drawings and submittal packages in AutoCAD
• Prepare submittal documents and permit applications
• Maintain project drawing files and documentation
• Develop and maintain library of symbols and drawings for future projects
• Develop spreadsheets/tools to improve drawing quality and reduce task time
• Operate plotter, scanner and reproduction equipment
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Perform other duties as assigned
