Job summary

Cosco Fire Protection is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Designer/Drafter in Seattle, WA. You will use AutoCAD to create design drawings, prepare permit submittals, and maintain project documentation.

The role requires detail orientation and the ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects. The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree in CAD or equivalent, AutoCAD training, and knowledge of NFPA codes.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in CAD or equivalent experience in design/drafting Fire Alarm Systems.
• Formal CAD System or AutoCAD software training or experience.
• Basic working knowledge of fire alarm electronics, codes and practices.
• Proficient with MS Office and AutoCAD 2004 or higher.
• Able to read Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical layouts and diagrams.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes & standards.
• Strong ability to follow supervisor directions to develop designs.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend project turnover meetings with design supervisor, sales and field superintendent.
• Use AutoCAD to create fire alarm design drawings and submittal packages within system specs and planning.
• Prepare submittal documents and permit applications.
• Maintain project drawing files and documentation.
• Develop and maintain library of symbols and templates for future projects.
• Develop tools to improve drawing quality and reduce task time.
• Operate plotter, scanner and repro equipment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
