Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician in Florida who will service, program, and commission fire alarm systems while upholding our customer-first culture.

You will test and troubleshoot systems, read blueprints, and ensure compliance with local codes. Travel locally to sites as needed, maintain safety standards, and present a professional image on every assignment.

Qualifications

• Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally; some overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Assist in servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programming of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and manuals.
• Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes and safety policies.

• Communicate and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.

What You'll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) and Honeywell fire alarm systems or similar complexity.

Preferred Experience: (but not required): 2 years of hands‑on experience in the commercial/ industrial/ low voltage/ electrical industry.

• NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm
• Associates degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation
