Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair fire alarm and life safety systems across commercial and industrial properties. You will program control panels, complete service reports, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma, and preferred NICET certification or related training.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of fire alarm or life safety service experience preferred.
• Technical training or certifications preferred.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification preferred or required based on state requirements.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Troubleshoot system issues and complete accurate, timely repairs.
• Program and configure fire alarm control panels and related devices.
• Complete service reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
• Identify deficiencies and explain system issues, repairs, and code requirements to customers.
• Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors.
• Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicles.
• Follow NFPA standards, local codes, and company safety procedures.
• Stay current with industry codes, technology, and certifications.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and emergency service calls.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of fire alarm or life safety service experience preferred.
• Technical training or certifications preferred.
• NICET Fire Alarm certification preferred or required based on state requirements.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes.
• Experience with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment.
• Notifier or similar manufacturer experience preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office, mobile software, and computer skills.

The Job

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces.
• Work at commercial, industrial, and multi‑family properties.
• Work in varying weather, noise, and electrical environments.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and occasional overtime.
