Job summary

Control Systems, Inc. is seeking skilled Fire Alarm Service Technicians to join our team in New York. You will inspect, test, service, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems, ensuring safety and compliance on commercial properties.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 3 years in the Fire Alarm/Low Voltage field, a valid driver's license, and strong communication skills. On-site work with occasional flexibility supports our customers and ongoing projects.

  • Background checks and driving history meet company requirements.
  • Proficiency in using industry equipment including MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Fire Alarm/Low Voltage field.

Overview

We are seeking skilled Fire Alarm Service Techniciansto join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with inspecting, testing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing Fire Alarm systems.

Responsibilities
  • Inspectors shall perform all inspections, testing and some repair tasks on fire alarm systems.
  • Service technicians shall respond to scheduled and emergency service requests and perform in-depth trouble shooting, repair and/or replacement of system equipment.
  • Service Technicians will have the ability to program fire alarm systems or have experience with programing low voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security, or CCTV.
  • Frequently resolve problems through research of multiple alternatives.
  • Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management.
  • Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
  • Experience with the following manufacturers: Edwards/EST, Kidde, Notifier, FireLite, Bosch, Silent Knight, DSC, Telguard, and Gamewell/FCI is preferred.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
  • Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Fire Alarm/Low Voltage industry.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.
