Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems. You will diagnose issues, interpret drawings, and complete service calls with strong attention to safety and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in the industry, a clean driving record, and FAL certification, with additional certifications viewed favorably.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• FAL required.
• Additional fire alarm certifications a plus.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, components, and troubleshooting methods.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, service and inspection of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.

• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.

The Fire Alarm Service Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
