Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled technician to maintain, repair, install and program conventional and addressable fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, nurse call, and related building systems. Candidates should read blueprints and manuals, perform inspections, and handle installation tasks with attention to safety and quality.

The role requires physical work, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and willingness to work overtime or overnight during busy schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer interaction skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs unaided by management.
• Self-starter needed with minimal supervision.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Have a valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Be able to obtain and retain required licenses by NF/State/Local codes.

What you will do:

Maintain, repair, install, and program Conventional and Addressable Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, Nurse Call, and other related building systems products.

How you will do:

• Knowledge of test equipment to include multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding, working within ducts, crawl spaces above ceilings, etc.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operation/product manuals.
• Perform inspections and installation activities on electronic fire systems.
• Overtime/Overnight stay may be required during busy project schedules.

What we look for:

Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Pass criminal background check and drug test.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
• Be able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.

Preferred:

• Three (3) years of experience in the Fire Alarm or Integrated Security Systems maintenance
• Low voltage electrical installation experience
• IT and Networking experience.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21.92 - 30.14 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
