Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Installer to join our team in Houston. The role involves installation and checkout of fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems, including three-phase electrical power and conduit, with attention to drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of LV installer experience, strong reading of blueprints/diagrams, and NFPA familiarity, plus the ability to work under tight deadlines and travel occasionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm/LV Installer.
• Solid working knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
• Able to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams and follow specifications.
• Experience in termination of field devices.
• State and locally required minimum certifications.
• Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 installation requirements.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
• Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Be physically fit to perform demanding work with lifting up to 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and ladders.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems.
• Install commercial & industrial 3-phase electrical power systems.
• Install all types of electrical conduit.
• Troubleshoot circuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions.
• Install and run wires, wire devices, fish walls, and doors.
• Complete paperwork on-site and keep as-built drawings current.
• Comply with standards and Sciens safety programs/policies.
