Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fire Alarm Installation & Service Technician role based in Lawrence, KS. The technician installs, programs, tests, and services fire alarm systems in commercial facilities in accordance with NFPA codes, UL standards, and company procedures. Daily responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance, diagnosing system issues, completing repairs, and documenting all work performed and parts used. The role involves field service visits, coordination with project managers and other trades, and clear communication with customers to explain system functionality, maintenance needs, and service findings. The technician follows safety protocols, maintains tools and equipment in good working order, and supports continuous improvement of installation and service processes.

Qualifications

• Strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills for fire alarm systems and related equipment.
• Proficient Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve system faults and performance issues.
• Field Service experience, including on-site visits, system testing, and completion of service reports.
• Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and support long-term client relationships.
• Knowledge of NFPA fire alarm codes, UL standards, and general electrical or low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in a variety of building environments while following safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites in the region.
• Relevant certifications such as NICET Fire Alarm or equivalent are preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics, electrical, or fire alarm systems is a plus.
