Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems, is hiring a field technician to maintain, repair, install and program fire alarm, security, nurse call, intercom and CCTV systems.

You will use test equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters, perform inspections, and read blueprints and manuals. Overtime/overnight work may be required. A HS diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, install, and program conventional and addressable fire alarm, security, nurse call, intercom, CCTV systems and related building systems.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operation/product manuals.
• Perform inspections and installation activities on electronic fire systems.
• Use test equipment including oscilloscope, multimeters, battery analyzers, frequency meters and decibel meters.
• Overtime/overnight stay may be required during busy schedules.

What You Will Do

Proficient at maintaining, repairing, installing, and programming conventional and addressable fire alarm, security, nurse call, intercom, CCTV Systems and other related building systems products.

How You Will Do It

• Knowledge of test equipment to include oscilloscope, multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding, working within ducts, crawl spaces above ceilings, etc.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operation/product manuals.
• Perform inspections and installation activities on electronic fire systems.
• Overtime/Overnight stay may be required during busy project schedules.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE

$19-26 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
