Job summary

Century Fire Protection LLC in Duluth, GA is hiring a Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, and test fire alarm systems according to project drawings.

You will read and interpret drawings, verify parts, install control panels, mount devices, wire components, and perform final acceptance testing with the AHJ, documenting the installation for records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1–3 years related experience or training preferred.
• Fire alarm/low voltage installation experience is preferred.

Summary

Responsible for installation, programming, and testing of fire alarm systems per project design drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fire alarm and electrical drawings and specifications.
• Review drawings and verify parts for job are accurate.
• Install and program fire alarm control panels and other equipment.
• Mount devices, install conduit (if applicable) and wiring to connect system components per design drawings and applicable building codes and standards.
• Perform all tasks associated with fire alarm installation, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts.
• Identify and repair any troubles and test all devices and components to ensure proper operation.
• Perform final acceptance testing with the AHJ.
• Produce reports and other documentation to certify the installation of the system.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fire alarm and/or low voltage installation experience is preferred.
