Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Las Vegas is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Install Technician to perform core installation tasks for fire alarm systems, independently and in accordance with plans, specs, and codes.

You will read blueprints, ensure safety, train junior staff, travel to sites, and contribute to project success. Requires 3+ years in fire/life safety; NICET I+ preferred; driving record must be clean.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• NICET Level I or above preferred; clean driving record and active driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans and codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Ensure safety standards and company policies are followed.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Train and support entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

The Fire Alarm Install Technician is capable of independently performing core installation tasks for fire alarm systems. This role is responsible for completing standard installation jobs, without direct supervision, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company quality expectations.

• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.

Education/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.

• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
