Job summary

A dynamic fire protection company in Grand Rapids is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Technician. Responsibilities include installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of related experience and a NICET II certification. Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable NFPA codes with working knowledge of system controls, alarm panels, devices, and components.
  • Understanding of system schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot and repair deficiencies.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
  • Proper use and operation of tools required to complete the installation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete installations as scheduled in a timely manner.
  • On-call rotation with other technicians to handle emergency service.
  • Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies.
  • Ensure that all assigned tools are safeguarded and maintained.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • NICET II and/or state required certification required (FAST).
  • 2+ years' experience inspecting and/or installing fire alarm systems required.
  • Ability to use a computer, tablet and read electronic blueprints required.
  • Building Reports experience preferred.
  • Service Trade experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to operate a computer, tablet and read electronic blueprints required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Fire Alarm Technicians: 2 years (Preferred)
