Job summary

M.C. Dean in Tysons, Virginia, is seeking a Fire Alarm Inspector 2 to perform inspections and testing of fire alarm systems at mission-critical facilities.

You will work under senior technicians to ensure NFPA 72 compliance and comprehensive documentation of results. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or two years related experience (or a technology degree), NICET Fire Alarm Levels I/Inspections, and the ability to obtain US Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school degree and two years of related experience or two years technology degree.
• NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I or NICET Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems I, or pass NICET I exam within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain US Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and functional testing of simple fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and local standards.
• Test and troubleshoot initiating devices, notification appliances, and system components, addressing malfunctions or deficiencies.
• Assist in inspections and testing of interconnected systems, including elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, tampers and flows.
• Assist senior technicians with the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems, including fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
• Document all service activities, including inspection results and repairs, and complete testing reports with noted deficiencies.
• Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers for accurate quoting of recommended repairs.
