Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an Inspector to perform building fire alarm inspections, test devices, and generate reports. You will assist the Lead Inspector and Inspection Manager with data collection and required paperwork. The role requires attention to detail, timely completion, and strong communication.

Experience in fire alarm inspections is preferred; proficiency with test equipment and Palm OS is needed. Team collaboration and timely reporting are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; high school diploma acceptable with experience.
• NFPA standards for inspection/testing fire protection systems; stay current with code changes; NICET certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform building fire alarm inspections including testing devices and recording results.
• Assist Lead Inspector/Inspection Manager in data collection and paperwork (Fire Alarm Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, Inspection Certificates).
• Ensure inspections are completed timely and accurately.
• Test building Fire alarm control panels, devices, and functions; enter results into Palm handheld device.
• Download inspection data and generate completed Fire Alarm Inspection Reports.
• Participate in monthly team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
